Can All the Bishops, Archbishops, Apostles And Rev. Doctors In the 21st Century Do This?

Why was there a division amongst the disciples of the Lord? Who caused this matter to be discussed among the servants of the Lord? James and John had the desire to be first among the disciples, even beyond this earth. They brought their mother to speak to Christ on their behalf. Mrs. Zebedee, the wife of Papa Zededee, the fisherman, asked Christ if her sons could sit one at the right and the other at the left of Christ in His Kingdom? Their intension was that they wanted to rule over the rest of the ten disciples. (Mark.10:35-45)

Jesus Christ asked them a question. You do not know what you are asking for. Can you drink of the cup that I drink of, and with the baptism that I am baptized with? And they answered, yes, we can. And Jesus said unto them. You shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of, and the baptism that I am baptized with withal shall you be baptized. But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.

The Zebedees opened a can of worms, and they were festering and squirming in the hearts of the ten with anger and bitterness. (v.41) Jesus called them to Himself, and began to say unto them, “You know that they which are accounted the Gentles exercise lordship over them; and their great one exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister. And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of Man came not be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many”.

It is in fallen human to want to dominate and rule other humans, just like the fallen chief of angels, Lucifer. Man is not made to control and be the boss of his fellow man and we inherited this from our fallen nature. Jesus Christ has come to redeem us, and get back for us what the enemy has stolen. He stole from us the humility of a servant leader whose main responsibility is to minister and serve mankind like Christ who was sent by His Father.

God did not create us to live in division and dichotomy as His children, but He made us so that we can assist others to be what God made them to be. We are created to reach the most possible height possible in Christ, the Son of God so that we can say, “As He is, so are we in this world”. (1Jn.4:17b) Heaven will be on earth if the saints of God can truly serve and minister to one another because this is the true barge of humility. Jesus Christ, the Son of God was always doing good anywhere He went, and for His saints to adopt this attitude will be heaven on earth for all who will come to God through Him. There is no force, power and might that can be compared with this force of God in the saints.

The question asked by the wife of Zebedee, the mother of James and John is an age long issue with the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve. Can we sit in the place of honor? Can we have authority over men and women? Can we dominate our fellow beings? Can we be kings and lords of the people who are created in the image and likeness of God? Can a man rule over a woman? Can we be the president, the boss, the king, queen and the executive leader and officer? This is what mankind spent his energy on while living on this terrestrial ball. God is opposed to the ways of man, and He vehemently resent mankind ruling mankind. He wants all of us to flow in humility, and thereby having the ability to act to Jesus Christ serving and honoring one another.

The mindset of Lucifer should be a billion miles removed from the children of God who are bought with the blood of the everlasting covenant. In Christendom today, we see leadership pattern after Satan, and emulate by presidents, prime ministers, permanent secretaries, governors, premiers, senators, members of the house of parliaments, in the board rooms and many other organizations and institutions all across the globe. If the leaders are willing to go down the ladder, and serve their fellow human beings, the world will be a better place. There will a better place, and the notion of one nation ruling or rebelling against another will be a thing of the past.

Russian president will not attack the Ukrainians. The ISIS, ISIL, Taliban’s, Hamas, Abbas, terrorism, Muslims Jihadists and all the unhappy people of the world will be at peace with one another if only they will listen to Jesus Christ. The wars, civil wars, wars over lands, states, governments, kingdoms, tribes, people and clans men will be a thing of the past if we can only listen to the Lord our God to serve and minister in leadership, both politically, spiritually, governmentally, marriages, businesses and all walks of life.

The way up is the way, and men are to take on the image of Christ who stooped to conquer on the cross of Calvary. The servant leaders makes others to want to serve because it is what they are rather that what they do. If you are a servant leader, everyone with you will like to serve because you have shown them, and not told them how to serve their community and the world.

The governments of this world are different from that of the King of kings and the Lord of lords. They are a billion miles apart, and they operate in different dimensions. The kingdom of God has a servant leadership, and the way up is first down. This world is not so with its systems. You have to climb up the ladder, and sometimes step on others on your way to the top.

It means you are living in two kingdoms that demand your allegiance, and whichever you subscribe to will rule your life. If you bow to the systems of this world, your life will be governed by pride, deception, avarice and negative aggression. The kingdom of God is run by humility while those of this world is run by pride, power, deception and lies. If you give into the systems, and allow them to run your life, they will trump the righteousness of God within you. However, if you are a person of the kingdom of God, and His word is in you, you will overcome every area that has to do with this material world.

A person whose life is under the reign of His kingdom cannot be overcome and overpowered by the systems of this world which is rooted in pride, arrogance, lies, deception and manipulations, instigated by the enemy of God and His saints.

There is nothing wrong with the sons of Zebedee, James and John to ask the question, but the concept of sitting at the height of power has some inclination of superiority and mastery over those who are not. It is a human thing to rule over people, but God opposes it and wants the greatest and highest amongst the saints to have His humility that serves and ministers, instead of ruling and reigning over the saints of God. That which is highly esteemed amongst men is abomination in the sight of God. (Luke.16:15b) Men are prone to ruling and reigning over men, instead of serving and ministering to them.

It has always been the mark of the earthlings to gain grounds and heights in life by aspiring to be the greatest through corporate ladder climbing. He says that in His kingdom, the mindset of the systems of this world will not lead to higher heights in God and His kingdom. Ours is the kingdom of the Word, and the Living Word is Christ. He prepares His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom of the Living Word rules everything on earth, in heaven and below the earth. (Psm.103:19)

Pride is the barge of Satan, and by it, came his fall at the beginning of time. He fell from grace to grass, and consequently, into the fire of hell. Those who follow in his steps will experience the same outcome.

Jesus answered the brothers; James and John, who were eager to drink of His cup and baptized with the baptism, but it was not in His hands to give permission to them to sit at His right or left. The 10 took offence to the brothers wanting to rule over them in the kingdom of God, but Christ had to do some damage control. Jesus corrected the situation that was created by the Zebedees.

He said in Mk.10:35-45, “You know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be among you. Whoever will be great among you, shall be your minister, and whoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be the servant of all. For the Son of Man, Christ, came not to be ministered unto but to minister and serve, and to give His life a ransom for many”.

Therefore, if you want to be king in heaven, be a slave, servant or a minister on the earth with humility, mercy and grace. Serve others from your heart, and not with lip services, but genuinely for their needs, promotion and wellbeing. That is the way to be the greatest in the kingdom of God. You must be prepared to wear a thorn on the earth if you want to wear a crown in heaven. Also, you must remember that the earth opposes heaven and the way up, is first, the way down. May the Lord open our eyes to true leadership, which is a servant- leader.

The apostles of Jesus Christ learned of this vital way of life in the Kingdom of God when God’s Spirit came upon them in Acts 2. They were transformed and changed inside and outside, and Peter who was caring for his dear life before now, serve others by allowing himself to be killed for the sake of the Kingdom of God. All the apostles paid with their lives in allowing others to be better than themselves in the Kingdom of God. Truly, the way up is first and foremost the way down, and to be truly great amongst the ranks and files of heaven is to serve and give ones life a ransom for many.
