The world and all its executives are thinking of how they will make the next million dollars and all the crooked ways that go with it. People are thinking of rape, murder, incest, crimes, injustices, anger, hatred, getting the next girl or man, unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, envy, deceit, covetousness, maliciousness, murder, debate, malignity, evil things, backbiting and of the hatred of God. People are thinking of being despiteful, proud, boastful, inventing evil things, disobedient to parents and depravity. The thoughts of hatred, covenant breaking, wickedness, injustice, revenge, paying back and all kinds of related thoughts have filled people’s hearts. (Roms.1:29-32)

God seems to say to His people, “That is wrong thinking and they will produce negative emotions and very sad experiences”. Why? Thoughts have great potential of becoming things, whether we like it or not. Evil begets evil and so do thoughts of bad or good things beget the same. You don’t want to have those traffic tickets, but you keep getting them, because you are thinking about them, so your mouth will talk about them. What you think about ceaselessly, repeatedly and relentlessly, is what your mouth will speak about, whether good or bad. The word says, “As a man or woman thinks in his or her heart, so he is”. (Prov.23:7a) Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks”. (Matt.12:33-34) What you say is what you get, because it is your heart. Whosoever will always have, whatsoever he says, because it is coming from the heart and mind. If the Peace of God does not protect your mind and heart, the garbage will eventually come out, to fulfill your command. It is like the “gene” in Aladin and the Lamp. The “gene” says, “Your wish is my command”.

Now, let us go to the heart of this article and examine what the writer has been saying in the light of the heart, mind and mouth that lead to Living by Faith. Hebs.11:1-40 tells us about the heroes of Faith. We begin from v.1.  Faith both has substance and evidence and it has to do with things in the future, things hoped that have not come into the realm of physical tangibility. Since faith has both substance and evidence to see the future brought to the present, then, it is the title deed of things far away in the future and you can now say it is yours and you are pregnant with it, like a woman and you will deliver that thing very soon. Unless your mouth agrees with what is in your heart and mind, you will be like a wave tossed up and down in the open sea. Your ship will never come to anchor on the land, because your mouth will betray what is in your heart.

Verse 6 of the same chapter says, “It is impossible to please God without faith, because whoever comes to God must believe that He is (even though he cannot see Him) and that He is a Rewarder or Compensator of them that diligently seek Him”. Go through the chapter and see the heroes and heroines of faith from verses 4 to 40. God is our Leader and set an example for us to follow, as seen in verse 2. It stated, “By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that the things which are seen, were not made of things which do appear”. God called reality into existence and from nothing came something, which we called our planet Earth.

So, you are not different from God, because He created you in His image and likeness. Like the Creator, like the created. You too can frame your world by the Words of your mouth. Do not speak negative things like curses, profanity, calamity, ruins, evil, wickedness, atrocities and bad words either to your children or people in general. The things that you have in your heart which are thoughts will eventually become a reality in the lives of your children, sooner or later. You shape the lives of your children by what is seeded into them, for eighteen years that they are with you. Are you going to train them to call things that are not as if they were? Are you going to train them in death or in life by sowing into them wholesome things?

What about the small voice telling you is not going to work and gives you all kinds of reasons why. What do you do to that voice and how do you handle it, knowing that you are set to please God? The small voice is there to remind us that man as in Adam, cannot obtain his independence from God. If he insists, He will oblige him and let him follow the voice of death within. Noah, Abraham, Moses, Paul and even Jesus Christ had to face the little voices telling them that God had made mistakes in the things they held dear to their hearts. We will come to how we need to handle that voice in a minute, but we want to see the patriarchs. Noah wrestled with the voice in him until he gave in and he was drunk. (Gen.9:20-27) He caused his son Ham to sin. Abraham was faced with Ismael being his heir and the thought hunted him for so long. (Gen.16:18) King James and New International versions do not agree on this point. KJV: He considered not his own body and NIV: He contemplated his own body. (Roms.4:19) Moses had anger problem and it went on to the grave with him. In Nums.20:8-13, the Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the Rock and it will give you water.” But Moses in anger, smote the rock and water gushed out. The Lord was displeased with him and it caused him an entrance into the Promised Land. In IICor.12:7-10, Paul was given a messenger of the devil to buffet him, because of the abundance of the revelations God gave him. He prayed so much for it to go away, but it remained until the day he died, that man should not trust in man, but the Living God. Then came Jesus Christ Himself and He too as a man heard the little voices speaking to Him to do it all alone without His Father. In Matt.26:36-46, Jesus faced the worst attacks from the enemy to take His soul as a man. He wept sour with loud cries and strong tears, before He yielded to His Father and surrendered His life to God. (Hebs.5:7-10)

Even so, we will hear the little voices saying to us, that it cannot be done and it will give us a million reasons why, but hold on to your faith in God. You are in good company and just as Noah, Abraham, Moses, Paul and Jesus Christ triumphed in God, you will also triumph and you will not yield to those little voices inside of you. You cannot do anything to the flesh or the voice whining inside you, but only what you have been told to do. “Reckon it dead indeed and maintain your integrity”. Roms.6:10-14. You have to maintain the victory of the cross over the flesh and do not let it resurrect from the grave, even if you have to do it a million times. Verse 11 says, “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Read those scriptures again slowly and allow them to get into your spirit.

In conclusion, the author believes that all things are possible to him that believes in God and have the God kind of faith, that is first in the heart and mind and then spoken through the mouth, to activate or pull the trigger which causes the law of faith to go to work for you. “Your wish is his command.” Jesus said, “When you pray, present your desires to God in prayer and nothing else”. Do not pray your complaints, depression, irritation, frustration, bitterness and all the negative emotions caused by bad things that you do not want. Pray what you want to see in your life, in your children lives and in the lives of the people you pray for each day of your existence on earth. (Mark.11:22-24)

Read over and over these scriptures and you will discover the richness of the Faith that can be yours when you trust in the God, who gives life to the dead (quickens) and calls those things which be not as though they were. (Romns.4:16-25) These are the scriptures: Hebs.11:1-40, Phil.4:4-8, Prov.18:21, Matt.12:33-34, Mark.11:22-24, Job.3:25-26, Nums.13:31-33, Phil.4:12-13, Prov.4:20-27, Prov.23:7, Matt.15:15-20, Phil.2:1-11, Phil.3:14-21, Eph.4:1-32 and Eph.5:1-2. You can frame you world by your words. Believe it in your heart, because it is the Word of God.

  • Prov.18:21 Guard your heart because the tongue speaks the things therein and life and death are in the power of the tongue.
  • Matt.12:33-34 Out the abundant of the heart, the mouth speaks and your mouth will tell on your heart.
  • Mark.11:22-24 Have the God kind of faith, for whosoever can have whatsoever he says. Therefore, all things whatsoever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them.
  • Job.3:25-26 Fear has torment (IJohn.4:18) and the thing that Job feared came upon him, because as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. My sighing comes before I eat and my roaring is poured out like the water. The things that I greatly feared are come upon me and that which I was afraid of, is come unto me. I was not in safety, neither had I rest or quite and yet trouble came.
  • Nums.13:31-33 We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are. The people that we saw are great men of stature and we saw the giants too who were the sons of Anak, the descendants of the giants. We were in our own eyes like grasshoppers and so we were in their sight.
  • Phil.4:12-13 I know how to be full or to be empty. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
  • Prov.4:20-27 Keep the Word of God inside your heart and guard it (with the Peace of God) with your life, for they are life unto those that find it.
  • Prov.23:7 As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
  • Matt.15:15-20 Out of the heart proceeds evil thoughts: murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness and blasphemies.

These are the things that defile a man. All these people had these negative thoughts in their hearts and minds and they spoke them out through their lips. You caused the bad things that you have experienced in life, because they came out of your mouth. Change the condition and the deposits of your heart and your mouth will speak accordingly. Your life will be blessed and those who are hearing you will be blessed too. Amen!
